HISTORICAL DISTRIBUTION

DISTRIBUTION 15 YEAR AGO

CURRENT DISTRIBUTION

The two isolated remaining populations are restricted to 1)The Cotocachi-Cayapas Ecological Reserve and buffer zones that include the Los Cedros Biological Reserve and 2) the Awa Indigenous Reserve

Due to planned road developments the populations in the Cotocachi-Cayapas Ecological Reserve have the greatest chance of survival for the future however issues such as hunting and habitat degradation must be addressed.
